Air-Source Heat Pump (ASHP)

Air-source heat pumps (ASHPs) provide an all-electric heating and cooling solution in Greenheck’s dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS). ASHPs provide a comfortably ventilated space while meeting decarbonization goals and lowering carbon emissions compared to gas furnaces.

ASHP Cooling Capacity: 5 - 30 tons

Airflow Range: 500 - 10,000 cfm

Available on Models: RV-25, RV-45, RVE-40, RVE-85, RVC-45 and RVC-65

Sustainable, All-electric Operation

ASHPs provide all-electric heating and cooling by reversing the flow of refrigerant within the unit and capturing heat energy from the air stream.

Operation Down to 0°F

Our ASHP systems can operate down to 0°F which means more operating days in more climates. If temps dip below 0, supplemental or back-up heat sources provide ongoing occupant comfort.

Smart Defrost Mode

Our Defrost Mode control sequence allows the unit to run more often when conditions may cause frost buildup on the outdoor coil by reading multiple data points from the unit.

Energy Recovery Options

ASHPs can be challenged to operate in extreme conditions, but energy recovery devices help by tempering the incoming air. Greenheck DOAS provides multiple energy recovery options to fit any project need.

Why Choose Greenheck Air Source Heat Pump Technology?

As areas around the U.S. begin to embrace decarbonization and regulate the use of natural gas in new and existing buildings, building designers must find solutions that meet codes and requirements. Air-source heat pumps provide all-electric operation with one system that heats and cools the air. When paired with energy recovery, the DOAS unit becomes even more efficient. Other benefits of Greenheck's ASHP offering include:

  • High efficiency with standard inverter compressor
  • Standard lead EC outdoor fan motor for modulating head pressure control
  • Coefficients of Performance (COP) ranging from 3-4, contributing to lower annual energy costs

Applications

Greenheck DOAS offers a broad range of configurations to meet the needs of any project. Dedicated outdoor air systems are ideal for:
